Smriti Sridhar
Smrithi performed her Arangetram on 6th July, 2008, under the guidance and tutelage of her Guru, Smt. Gayatri Subramanian. She was introduced to Bharatanatyam at the age of six. She is a relentless achiever and passionate dancer, who considers herself lucky to have found such a versatile Guru.
Having undergone initial training at Nalanda Dance Research Centre, Mumbai and having shifted her place of residence from Andheri to Navi Mumbai, she found in Gayatri a Guru who could guide, teach and perfect her dance. After joining the Takshashila Dance Academy, she thoroughly enjoyed her classes and had the opportunity to learn many new items.
A class IX student of Apeejay School, Nerul, she has actively participated in various school cultural programs and pursues her academics with the same zest that she shows for dance. She is also an avid reader. Smrithi says, “I like the transparent culture of the Academy and the role played by the seniors in fine-tuning the steps in dance sequences. My Guru’s dedication and sincerity, along with her consistent support and encouragement has enabled me to do quite a few group performances on stage before my Arangetram. These performances have helped me a lot in many ways. I consider myself very fortunate to learn at Takshashila Dance Academy and have such a loving, caring and versatile Guru.”
